Special Interest Group 2021: Education

November 10, 2021

Session Title: TeleNeurology

Description: The use of TeleNeurology in training programs has suddenly and rapidly increased since the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. This has forced a transition from in-person, hands-on teaching to virtual and remote patient encounters and learning environments in which the teacher is often physically separated from the trainee. Formal standardized training curricula for medical students, residents, and fellows are lacking. During this session, experts in TeleNeurology will share best TeleNeurology education practices for medical students, residents, and fellows, and trainee outcomes as a result of these practices.

Chair: Kathryn Nevel, MD, Indiana University

Co-Chair: Alissa Thomas, MD, University of Vermont
